You know it is springtime in Atlanta when the kids come in all yellow from making "pollen angels."

In the rest of the world a very high pollen count would be around 200 and warnings are issued. This week in Atlanta, we have been seeing pollen counts over 5000, yes that is five THOUSAND.

But the trees and bushes are beautiful.

Enjoy!

Spring has sprung

Not much happening here right now.  Seems to be the story of our life with Katelyn away.  But we talk more, study more , and don't get enough physical exercise.

And, thank the Lord, the cold snap has turned into spring-like weather.  The jonquils and crocus are blooming.  And the johnny jump ups.  The nights are cool and the days are warm.  It kinda makes you thankful you made it through another Georgia winter.

My daughter is maturing rapidly and I am very proud of her.  Not only because she's smart.  She's also very kind, sentimental and understanding of other people.

Well, that's all for now.  Y'all be good and write something.

So...freshman year of college officially ended this afternoon at 5 pm CST, although I have been done with my coursework since Sunday. Mom and Dad are going to be in Houston either tomorrow night or Friday morning to pick me up. All in all, it has been a very good year. I've gotten into a few fights with people, had some rough situations with interpersonal relationships, and been exposed to a few things that I wasn't entirely familiar with before, but college is meant to be a learning experience, and I must say I have learned a lot, not only about other people, but also about myself. I have learned to recognise my negative aspects, and help to correct them. I'm also learning about my positive aspects. I'm learning to control my temper, and have patience with other people. It seems like I have learned a lot more outside of classes than I have in classes, but that's not to say I haven't been learning a lot about coursework either. I have become an expert at writing ten page papers in less than a day, and also prioritizing homework, because it is near impossible to do absolutely everything that a professor assigns you. Thus, I have learned what is absolutely necessary to get by. College is about LIFE, no matter what they try to convince you otherwise. College is about life, and I have been learning how to live it.

Love,
Katelyn

Yea!

One more week and Katelyn comes home for Spring break.

Can you believe it is already March?

It won't be long and Summer will be here once again.

Not much else going on around here. Jerry had the flu and we have both had the winter blahs. But we have some daffodils blooming and our crocus and hyacinths are poking up. The trees on my drive home tonight were quite lovely.  It won't be long before winter leaves us. I really look forward to the longer days. I like to have some daylight left when I come home in the evenings.

Okay so I know it's technically supposed to be either Mom or Dad updating this time, but I felt like updating.

Not that I have that much to say, I just wanted to let everyone who reads this know that I miss them very very much!

,

Katelyn
